THREE IN A ROW FOR IMPROVING SON OF MALINAS

DALKINGSTOWN (Malinas) quickly rewarded new connections when winning his first start under rules, a two mile bumper at Worcester on Tuesday.
The Peter Bowen-trained five-year-old was bought after winning two point-to-points for Philip Rowley and now races for owners Roddy Owen and Paul Fullagar. He was sent off favourite under Sean Bowen and raced towards the back of the field, quickening on the turn for home and was driven to lead approaching the final furlong. Ridden out in the closing stages, he held off Present Chief (Presenting) by the narrowest of margins, the pair racing nine lengths clear of the third.
Dalkingstown was bred by Miss SJ Turner and is a half-brother to Listed chase winner Tara Rose.
